Let me introduce you to this weeks flowers....  By now you should be starting to notice that we don't always have the standard flowers here at The Door Being creative people we are always tempted with unusual, pretty, elegant beauty.  Sadly it is not always seen to the public as it generally isn't as long lasting as the usual flowers you see on display at the local florist.  Roses, Spray Roses, Gerberas, Alstroemeria, Carnations, Chrysies, Vanda Orchids, Singapore Orchids, Oriental Lilies, Asiatic Lilies, Sunflowers, Natives and Tropicals, these are typical flowers you will generally see most of the year in florist shops on the Gold Coast, Australia.  I too will buy these flowers for our weekly menu, however you will always find something that hopefully you haven't seen before or a lot of on your bench top.   This week I have chosen this soft elegant colour palette of dusty pinks, purple and cream flowers.  The flower names are Carnation single dianthus sprays (this spray carnation looks a little like Hydrangea but with perfume) this isn't available often so a rare treat to find some, Imported (yes I know but they are stunning!) Chrysie disbud - Tornado purple, Lilium - Indian Summerset pink, Rose - Vandella cream, Statice - Sinuata mixed pastel pinks/purples, Sedum pink (this also comes in green and a burgundy - its a favourite of mine) won't be around for much longer the season is running out for them.
