Gold Coast Florist - Flowers at the Door | Lotus Pods
Lotus Pods fascinate me with their first colour of green with shades of pinks/purple tones in their first few days of being picked. Their stems are strong and often used when cut as a stamp in crafting with ink or paint. As you can see in this photo I took it shows the deep grey colour starting to show and it is at this stage it's starting to die. Time to hang upside down to straighten the stem to dry out. The round seeds will start to drop out and once dried we use the pod in arrangements or bouquets all year round. If you receive an arrangement or bouquet with a green lotus pod in it you will need to check water regularly as they are big drinkers! The Lotus leaves we like to use with our Native Bouquets for the same striking green with the shades of pink/purple tones. Enjoy the read. xx
